JULIE HEFFERNAN
Julie started riding horses
at the age of 6 and competed in local Hunter shows until college where she discovered Classical Dressage and Eventing.
She received her BS degree in Animal Science and her Instructor's certificate in 1986 from the University of New Hampshire.
In 2003 she discovered natural horsemanship and began teaching beginner and intermediate riders at Carousel Stables.
In Julie's words: "My primary focus is in starting young horses and riders and providing
them with a strong correct foundation. Safety first, then fun. Every student has a goal and it is important to
provide each rider with a solid foundation so that they can be successful. I offer my students the opportunity to
achieve not only success in their riding, but also self confidence and independence. Not every rider who I teach wishes
to ride in the Olympics, but all of them love horses and yearn for that special bond between horse and rider. A greater
bond is established when the rider learns to understand the horse and how it thinks and in turn learns how to effectively
communicate with the horse. "
